Privacy Policy

TEMPLATE — replace the bracketed sections before you publish. This is a starting point, not legal advice; have a lawyer review it if you're serious about launching, especially around CCPA/GDPR if you expect EU/California visitors.

What we collect

This site does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information you don't choose to give us (e.g. by emailing us). Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and performance purposes.

Advertising and cookies

This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this and other websites. Visitors can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or by visiting aboutads.info.

Location

To show permits near you, this site may look up an approximate location from your IP address via a third-party lookup service, without any prompt — this is a rough, typically city-level guess, and is not stored by GoGridPulse. If you choose to share your device's precise location (via a button, never automatically), your browser handles that directly; GoGridPulse uses the coordinates only in your browser to sort and center the map, and does not transmit or store them on our servers. Skipping both simply shows the newest activity statewide.

Accounts and saved filters

Signing in only requires an email address — we email you a one-click link, and never ask for or store a password. Once signed in, any filter you save (layer, state, county, or a point and radius) is stored against your account so you can view, edit, or delete it later. Turning on email alerts for a saved filter means we'll email you when something new matches it — every alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works without signing in. We don't sell or share your email address or saved filters with anyone else. [Add the specific processor(s) this runs through once deploy is finalized, e.g. a transactional email provider and its own privacy policy link.]

Third-party links

This site links to government data sources (Texas Railroad Commission, New Mexico Oil Conservation Division) and other third parties. We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
